The original 1930s home required renovations for a family with three growing children. The client requested more informal living, entertaining space and separate bedrooms for the children without sacrificing their north facing garden.
A now generous family room and kitchen area link to the northern and eastern gardens. Upstairs comprises a spacious roof terrace with wide privately screened views through the dense trees across the neighbourhood. Optimal energy efficiency was achieved through shaded double glazing, hydronic heating, high levels of insulation and recycling systems whilst retaining the original character of the home.
