The concept for Wyndham Regional Community Trade Training was conceived as a ‘Commercial Campus”, providing training courses and community programs to individuals aged between 15 and 64.

The design of the site incorporated many existing and expensive site assets including roadways, a carpark and an existing entrance. Construction budget was maximised by incorporating these existing assets into the cohesive concept. The undesirable west orientation of the site was transformed into an asset, with selectNOWarchitecture developing portal frames which were tilted and alternatively flipped to achieve even north/south natural lighting and ventilation. The portal frames provide opportunity for space use with flexibility for future growth and expansion of workshop spaces to the north and south and  administration and student services to the east. The ability of expansion of the “Commercial Campus” offers the wider community use of the space after-hours.
